Psychiatric Treatment Q&A
What types of psychiatric disorders and conditions are treated?
The Creative Care team works together to help with nearly all kinds of psychiatric disorders and conditions. For example, some of these include:
- Anxiety disorders, such as adjustment disorder
- Bipolar disorder
- Major depressive disorder and other types of depression
- Mood disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Schizoaffective disorder
Furthermore, the Creative Care team includes dual diagnosis specialists. For instance, if you or your loved one are struggling with addiction in addition to psychiatric disorders, they can treat both conditions compassionately and effectively.
What types of therapy are included in psychiatric treatment?
Psychiatric treatment at Creative Care is always highly individual. For example, the consulting psychiatrist, psychologists, clinicians, and other therapy providers all work together to offer a variety of therapies. In particular, these include:
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Informed cognitive behavioral therapy
- Mindfulness interventions
- Activities group
- Attachment-based psychotherapy
- Acceptance and commitment therapy
- Family therapy
- Couples therapy
- Trauma therapy
- Psychological testing
- Diagnostic testing
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy
In addition, we offer art therapy, equine group, and yoga. The approach that care providers at Creative Care use changes according to patient needs and progress. In fact, the whole-body wellness and comfort of each patient is always a top priority, which facilitates a healthy and peaceful treatment process.
How long is the psychiatric treatment program?
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” psychiatric treatment program. As a result, the length of treatment can vary considerably. With this in mind, as patients progress through their treatment, the Creative Care providers discuss optimal program length with patients and their loved ones.
Initially, the minimum stay at Creative Care is 30 days. However, some patients benefit from 60-90 day, or longer stays. The psychiatric treatment program is designed to help patients gain full control of their mental health so they can return to a healthy and happy regular life.
For psychiatric patients, success after the program may include daily medication. Consequently, it’s very important to stick with all aftercare treatment recommendations. Additionally, Creative Care patients learn how to cope with triggering situations in a healthy way so they can live their life without intrusive mental health problems.
The Creative Care team offers a comprehensive approach to psychiatric treatment, and you or your loved one can count on them for expert help. Call to speak to an expert now.
