What are the signs of drug addiction?
Drug addiction may look different in each sufferer, but some of the common signs to watch for include:
- The drug dominates thoughts
- There’s a never-ending effort to secure the drug
- Panic if the drug’s not available
- Spending too much money on drugs
- Taking or using more than intended
- Losing track of drug use
- Missing time with family or friends due to drug use
- Taking dangerous risks while under the influence of the drug, such as driving
- Missing or performing poorly at work
- Poor judgment to justify drug use
- Health problems due to drugs
Many drug addiction sufferers have one particular thing in common: when they try to cut back on drug use or even quit cold turkey, withdrawal symptoms kick in and make life miserable. This often leads to a cycle of trying to quit, failing, and then making endless attempts to stop using the drugs.
When is inpatient rehab the best option?
Although some patients may find success with outpatient rehab, inpatient rehab like the Creative Care program is often the better choice for a truly optimal recovery. The signs that inpatient rehab is the best choice include:
- Repeated failures to quit
- Failure to quit using outpatient therapy sessions
- Other problems are impeding recovery (dual diagnosis)
If you’re not sure whether you or your loved one need inpatient rehab for a successful recovery, the Creative Care team can do an evaluation and make professional recommendations.
What is the addiction recovery program like?
The addiction program at Creative Care is personalized based on individual needs. The dedicated care providers, including a consulting psychiatrist, psychotherapists, registered nurses, counselors, and other highly trained professionals, work as a team to create the ideal recovery plan.
The program starts promptly, which ensures a more comfortable early recovery. In addition to working through a 12-step program, patients meet with their main therapist at least a few times per week and also with a secondary therapist, consulting psychiatrist, and other members of the team regularly.
Family or couples therapy is another important aspect of recovery, as is art therapy, nutrition therapy, equine therapy, yoga, and other whole-body healing.
The addiction program at Creative Care is highly individualized for you or your loved one’s needs. Call to get help from a specialist today.
