Balancing positive attitude with negative feelings-not for the faint of heart

Having "negative" feelings can feel like a failure or that we don't have enough of a positive attitude. Balancing positive attitudes with authentic feelings is tricky.  But with support, we can bravely do this, facilitating our healing.

Treating a Dual Diagnosis of Depression with MedicationI feel it is tragic that anti-depressant drugs like Zoloft and Paxil have become so prevalent in treating depression because while research has shown that medication can be helpful in treating clinical depression, a pill does not remedy the depression it simply masks the symptoms of it.

Cocktail Hour Begins at 11am

Cocktail hour begins at 11am for Emily.  Emily’s story is not only true, but all too real for many women.  Some substitute the stay-at-home routine for work outside of the home, but the pattern of drinking is the same.  Their drinking has become their way to get through the day and they live in fear, fear of being called out on the drinking, fear of what it would mean if they were found out.
